Have used these fins as quads in two radically different boards. I’m 6’1 and 87kg hence large size fins. Board One Vessel Eco Bean 5’10 43 litres groveler (it’s a Bean/Potato type groveler with very wide tail) for small waves. These fins as quads have quite a big size difference in front versus rear fins. So they work incredibly well on this groveler board, they have a lot of drive and tight turning ability which is great in smaller waves. Of all the quad fins I have, these fins perform more like thrusters with arcing, driving turns, but still retain quad strengths of quick acceleration, speed, and hold on the face. Without question the best quads on small wave groveler and conditions that I’ve ridden. Board Two - 8’8 JP Wide Body Surf SUP. As an experiment I put them on my JP Widebody Surf SUP. On this board the small quad trailer fins were a bit of a liability for me. On a board this big the board lacked drive. It wasn’t sliding out completely but it was a bit too skatey (not in a good way) for me and I felt insecure and couldn’t really cut back like I wanted too and put real weight on the back of the tail pad, without feeling like it was going to slide out. Probably no surprise because they weren’t really made for this type of board. I haven’t yet tried these fins as a Thruster on any board. But note that the Thruster trailer fin is not as small as the quad trailers but slightly smaller than the front fins.
