The e*thirteen Sidekick Rear Hub is the only hub that simultaneously eliminates pedal kickback, delivers near-zero freewheeling drag, and runs near-silently when coasting. Built for trail, all-mountain, enduro, and E-MTB riders, the Sidekick unlocks a massive performance advantage by fully decoupling the drivetrain from the rear suspension during coasting.
The heart of the hub is a pusher-activated magnetic pawl mechanism that retracts completely when you stop pedaling. The result is a rear end that moves freely through its travel without fighting chain tension. This leads to significantly better small-bump compliance and more traction on rough terrain. In fact, BYB Telemetry testing shows up to 44% more time spent in the optimal suspension travel range compared to traditional hubs.
This model features a 32-hole drilling for maximum wheel strength and an SRAM XD Driver for Boost 148mm spacing. It includes a tool-free adjustable deadband, allowing you to switch between 9°, 13°, or 18° trailside in seconds. Use the 9° setting for fast, direct engagement during climbs, or open it up to 13° or 18° to maximize anti-kickback performance on technical descents. The 17mm 7075 alloy axle provides 50% more stiffness than previous generations while maintaining a competitive weight of just 300g.
Fully E-MTB compatible, the Sidekick reduces drivetrain clatter from motor torque pulses and is ASTM 5 rated for the most aggressive riding. It is backed by a 10-year warranty with lifetime bearing coverage and is fully rebuildable for extended service life.

Order Processing
Orders do not ship same-day. All Australian orders first arrive at our Auckland HQ warehouse, where they are collated and processed for export. This can take up to 3 business days before dispatch.
Multiple Items
If your order contains multiple items, we’ll collate them at our Auckland HQ and ship them together so your order arrives in full.
Remote Areas
Delivery to rural or remote parts of Australia, including WA, NT, and Far North QLD, may take longer than the standard 4–6 business day estimate.
Dispatch Schedule
Orders are dispatched Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm NZ time. Our daily processing cut-off is 3:00pm NZ time. Orders placed after this, on weekends, or on public holidays will be processed the next business day.
