Intuitive Braking
With quicker brake engagement and shorter free stroke, the Shimano Deore BL-M6100 brake lever delivers intuitive braking so you can stay focused on the trail ahead. The I-SPEC EV shift lever, with 10 deg. rotation angle setting range, offers a wider adjustment range for superior rider tuning. The redesigned 2-piston brake lever results in a stiffer mount for better feedback and more power. The brake lever is equipped with Shimano’s proven Servo Wave technology which results in quicker pad/rotor engagement, improved power, and a shorter free stroke. The Deore BR-M6100 caliper features lightweight braking performance and reliable stopping power in all conditions. It is a lightweight, 2-piston disc brake caliper with quick piston retraction, and its superior modulation gives you the power you need at low weight.
J-Kit
J-Kit is a simple hose connection system for hydraulic brakes on internally routed hoses so that you can install your brake quickly and easily. The brake hose does not come connected to the brake to facilitate the routing of the hose in the frame. The brake hose is already filled with oil in the J-Kit and sealed with a thin membrane. There is a small pin in the J-Kit brake lever that pierces this diaphragm during assembly to allow oil to flow.
Servo Wave
When you pull a Servo Wave brake lever, initial pad travel is fast, so little lever movement is needed to bring the pads into contact with the rotor. The power multiplication factor then increases rapidly at the pad-to-rim contact so more of the lever stroke is used to apply greater braking power with improved control.
One-Way-Bleeding
One Way Bleeding is a technique used on the brake calliper that makes it easier to bleed the brake. The hose routing has been optimised so that no air bubbles remain in the brake calliper. In combination with the funnel, the brake can be bled cleanly and easily.

SHIMANO
In 1961, a 3-speed bicycle hub displayed at the New York Toy Show was the catalyst for what would eventually become Shimano North America Holding, Inc. The popularity of 20-inch wheeled bikes with hi-rise handle bars fueled a demand for multi-speed hubs and Shimano was producing an affordable and reliable version that caught the attention of the industry. So much so, that by 1965, Yoshizo Shimano, the youngest son of the company founder in Japan, opened an office in New York to get quicker product feedback and to provide technical and warranty assistance to retailers selling bikes equipped with Shimano parts. Though Shimano North America Holding, Inc. has grown from that first modest office staffed by only three people to a full distribution center with sales and marketing offices, the goals are the same: to ensure that Shimano always has a listening ear to provide feedback on relevant trends and needs of the North American market for both bicycle and fishing products and make those a reality for our customers. Additionally, a good product is often judged as such by the support that the company provides, and our offices are staffed with customer service personnel that can answer questions and facilitate warranty resolution with just a phone call.
